BioSharon Martin, a licensed Kindermusik® educator, has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. She has taught music in elementary school for grades K - 8.
Since early childhood, music has been an important part of Sharon's life. She began studying piano at a very early age and was always very musical, singing in church choirs, ringing in bell choirs and performing in numerous recitals. She was an apprentice to her church choir director while still in high school. Always involved in extracurricular music activities in school, she was selected while a senior in high school to perform with the Western Connecticut State University Choir in concert. While in college she toured with the Augustana Choir including a
performance with Kenny Rogers "A Christmas Show." She was also involved in
several recitals and and stage performances while in college. She was asked to
serve as an interim church choir director in Rock Island while still in college.
Sharon's soprano voice could also be heard among the performers in the Quad City
Choral Arts Ensemble which participated in the PBS special "A Christmas
Homecoming" filmed in various locations in and around the Quad City area.
Now living in Davenport with her husband, Jeff, Sharon has been active in singing in her church choirs, directing youth choirs and organizing music programs for children of all ages. Sharon's studio has offered music lessons and voice coaching for pre-college teens in Davenport. Her lifelong passion for music and interest in educating children has resulted in her offering this opportunity for children of all ages in the Quad City area. |
